LANDSCAPE & LEGACY - We are fortunate to have New England’s rural, agrarian landscape—a visual legacy of our cultural heritage—to draw from for inspiration. A gently rolling patchwork of pastures, fields and stone fences, punctuated by clusters of austere, peaked-roof buildings is the backdrop of a lifestyle derived from the land. It was our ancestors’ fine-tuned response to the natural elements that allowed communities to flourish in an unforgiving environment. Without the advantages of modern-day technologies, the vernacular built forms performed exceptionally well, as their design and construction were derived from necessity and practicality. G•O Logic designs draw on broad vernacular traditions, and therefore are in keeping with many architectural vernacular styles across the U.S. We can also fine-tune our standard design options to make them compatible with local code, climate and cultural requirements.

CLIMATE & CONSERVATION - The North American climate is harsh. We freeze in the winter and bake in the summer, and a changing global climate means unpredictable, severe weather events occur with greater frequency. Unfortunately for us, poor insulation, air sealing and window technology—what’s become standard in the U.S. construction industry—makes us suffer in uncomfortable and wasteful homes. In fact, energy use in buildings in the U.S. far exceeds that of all the gas-guzzling cars on the road. Recognizing the need for a new approach to home construction, G•O Logic has designed beautiful, high-performing homes for the climate we live in.

G•O Logic has developed its energy-smart prototypes utilizing the best engineering and building science practices in North America and Europe. The energy performance metrics for our buildings are based on the Passive House Standards, from the German Passivhaus Institute. We have also worked with Marc Rosenbaum of Energysmiths to fine-tune the design for the New England climate.
